Auto CPR Saves Man’s Life in Cardiac Arrest

Suzhou ambulance used "black technology" to rescue a 50-years old man in suddenly suffered cardiac arrest successfully.

At about 6 am on May 26, the 56-years-old Man Mr. Yan suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and the Suzhou Emergency Center sent an ambulance to rescue him. In the process of chest compressions, the electric cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine (Auto CPR) plays an important role in saving lives, and helps the patient to regain spontaneous breathing and heartbeat. It is reported that five ambulances have been equipped with electric cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine (Auto CPR) in Suzhou. Mr. Yan is the first patient to receive rescue and rescue successfully.

"Hurry up, somebody is dying. Come here." At 6:03 am this morning, an emergency call reported that someone near the Xinzhuang vegetable market was unconscious when he was brushing his teeth. After the dispatcher inquired the patient's condition and location, he immediately dispatched an ambulance from the North District Emergency sub-station of the Municipal Hospital and immediately instructed the reported person to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation online.

At 6:13am, the ambulance arrived at the scene, and emergency workers immediately strapped a new electric transport cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine to Yan's chest. "This is a battery-powered, portable, automatic chest compressor (Auto CPR). It can provide high-quality compressions continuously through the air pump, completely replacing the manual CPR and freeing the hands of emergency worker in the ambulance, so that they can better provide manual ventilation, electrical defibrillation and other emergency measures." Mr. Liang Wang, deputy chief of the emergency department of Suzhou First aid Center, said the golden rescue time of sudden cardiac arrest is 4-6 minutes. Chest compression and assist ventilation frequency is about every 30 chest compressions, assist ventilation twice. The quality of manual CPR may be unstable in a dynamic environment such as the ambulance in jolts. However, the electric transport CPR machine can be more precise by setting parameters, such as the depth and frequency of compressions.

In addition, according to AHA guidelines, chest compressions should be paused for no more than 10 seconds. Electric transport cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine (Auto CPR) is smaller, lighter and portable and it is not limited by space. The auto CPR can be widely used in emergency environments such as stretcher transport or going up and down the building.

After sending to the hospital, Mr. Yan suffered ventricular fibrillation as well. The emergency workers gave him three times of electrical defibrillation, and continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation and drug treatment. Finally, the patient resumed spontaneous breathing and heartbeat. According to report, the patient’s aortic dissection was taken surgery shortly before, and he is still in ICU.

The electric transport cardiopulmonary resuscitation machine (Auto CPR) mentioned above, namely MCC-E produced by SunLife Science Medical company. MCC-E adopts the third-generation 3D compression technology, which combines the advantages of cardiac pump theory and thoracic pump theory. It can achieve higher efficiency and less injuries. MCC-E applies no backplane design, so that it can work normally in the not soft stretcher. It also can work at 45° tilt, breaking the limitation of horizontal transport during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In addition, the device is equipped with lithium battery, can continuously work for at least 60 minutes, 220V AC plug and run. No need to worry about the power source.

MCC-E chest compressors (Auto CPR) machines maximize the continuous high-quality compressions, suitable for outdoor transport and complex environments.
